Hey guys. It's me again and this time I got my beautiful, brand new 8350 and paired it up with my Sabertooth 990FX MoBo and chilling it with a hyper 212 evo in a Coolermaster Strom Scout 2 (all fan slots filled with CM sickleflow 120mm red) and now my to question:

Once I but this bulldog of a cpu in and ran my stress test (prime 95 i think small fft s) that S.O.B. shot up to 63C in less than 2 min.
After I shat myself and stopped the test before it went over 63C it cooled down back to a chilly 38C in about the same time.
At this point red flags are comming up and I thought I might of messed up on my thermal application (AS5) so I opened up my case and cleaned off the paste and reapplied a pea size and this time spread it around on the cpu with a credit card (before i just applied small grain of rice and let the heatspreader do the work.
So now I am running blend tests with a little better results on heat, but I think it should be better for the case, fans, and the fact its running STOCK.

Right now it idles at 40C and shoots up to about 55C max on prime 95 blend

so what do you guys think:

should I try to reapply the thermal paste

should I try to change some settings in the bios

or should I go to the corner of my room and cry

Cause I REALLY want to OC this thing (not alot but still) it seems silly to have such a beefy CPU and not be able to OC it with what i'm running in this case.

Solution
well ud be able to overclock alot more and keep it many degrees cooler.

lets just say u could overclock where the evo couldnt handle it.

Will that fit ok in the case cause that sucker is FAT

p.s. I looked at one there for a while before i went with the EVO

Also what temp difference would I see compared to what i got now
