I'm using a AMD processor and motherboard,does it matter what power supply I use?

My processor is a AMD fx 6300

n my motherboard is a ASUS M5A97 R2.0 AM3+ AMD 970 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard with UEFI BIOS

The power supply I was gonna get:Antec TruePower Classic series TP-750C 750W 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Power Supply

Does it matter what power supply I use?or is this good enough?

That power supply is way overkill.

Depending on what graphics card you choose, 600W is more than enough.

stick to quality brands lke antec, corsair or seasonic and you cant go wrong. the graphics card is pretty much going to determine how powerful of a psu you need. a 600w psu should power nearly any single gpu + that cpu.

PSU might be overkill but not if TS (ThreadStarter) decides to run dual graphics cards.

Besides, I've had my 850W PSU since 2006. Means I don't have to replace it when I upgrade computer. 2 upgrades so far and still running strong.
