I have a laptop with Windows 7 installed and I just installed Win 7 Home Premium on it. I thought that would uninstall the original Win 7 but i dont think it did. Now everytime I start up my laptop, i get a black screen asking which Windows to open and the 2 options both say Windows 7. It also says that I have 30 seconds or else the highlighted choice will be started. The first and highlighted choice is the new Windows, the one i want. How do i get rid of the old windows and the black screen?

when you get into windows(the one you want to keep), click Computer and it should show c:\ drive and another drive(the other drive would be the other windows 7) right click it, then click format. After that's formatted, right click computer and click "manage"; from there click "Disk Management" under storage under there it should show unused space or unallocated space. If it does right click "C:" partition click extend volume, when in extend volume max it out then click next.

The last step i stated is to take the space from the old windows 7 installation part of your existing new windows 7 copy so you don't run out of space.
