Hi. I just installed my new Cpu and my new motherboard. I did not uninstall Windows 7 before installing the new components. Right now the start up repair is working. It takes a lot of time and that's why I am wondering if I can uninstall them now and after that reinstall the windows from my USB. The thing is that when I open the pc the only options are start Windows normally and the start up repair. Any thoughts?

new components like a motherboard require a new install of an OS or windows. A cpu change with the same board does not. Boot into the windows setup and hit custom, format the boot disk and reinstall. If u want the data off the disk then reinstall old cpu and board and back-up the data and then format and reinstall

Nope. Most of the times a new mainboard does not need a new Windows installation, even though one is still advisable because the installation will be cleaner then. However, it would have been important to uninstall all drivers, especially the mainboard-related ones, before doing the hardware change, so Windows 7 boots up on its built-in default drivers that basically work with any hardware. After booting up you can install drivers for the new hardware.

This procedure is not guaranteed to work, and especially not guaranteed not to produce some weird effects afterwards, but there is a good chance everything will work. At least you will be able to boot up your new hardware in most cases and see if you can live with the result or better reinstall Windows anyway.

Then you are fine for now. I wish you the best of luck that it stays that way, because as I wrote before, there can always be weird effects in the future when mobo was swapped without a clean reinstallation of Windows.
