I am looking at getting a 750W power supply and thought I found a good deal but some of the reviews are complaining about sparking and smoking? Is this a real issue or is this just the normal thing where a fraction of the products aren't functional and some people are unfortunate and get sent them then a lot of those people write bad reviews and make the product look bad?

If this isn't a good power supply can someone suggest another 750W power supply. I don't want to go much over $100. Sales are always good :)

Thanks for the help! :D

hmm imo theres a possibility that every brand will have a "lemon" one (bad unit), thats why they give warranties to us consumers, its just a matter of chance, if the brand name is well known, there's a slimmer chance of getting a bad unit. but still, even if you pay 1000$ for a psu, and made by the best known brand, it still can fail you, that how electronics work, no one can say when it will say goodbye to you.

btw here's my suggested psu's for $100:

Seasonic m12II 750w
FSP Raider 750w

Thermaltake is hit-or-miss. The Tough Power series is in the second-for-the-top tier of Power Supplies, so it's should be really good. http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-1804779/power-supply-unit-tier-list.html

With every product manufactured, there is a chance of getting a bad unit. It just happens.

I had a Thermaltake TR2 RX (in the bottom last tier) and that worked just fine. I still replaced it though, for piece of mind.
