I've been having some trouble and hoping someone might know the cause. When I turn on my computer by hitting the power button, it starts up and the fans kick on for about 1 second then shuts off. However, if I hold the power button (~5 seconds) then my computer will turn on and stay on. At this point I can use my computer normally but if I turn off my computer again same thing happens when I try to turn it on again.

At I first i thought it might be my power button, but same thing happens if I turn my computer on through the mobo. So I unplugged everything but the essentials, same problem. I've also tried cmos resetting and 1 stick of ram at a time but those weren't the problem. Seeing as I can still use my computer, it's manageable, but I wanted to ensure this problem won't come back to bite me.

Solution
Most likely a faulty PSU/not enough watts for your components. I had a faulty Corsair GS600 with the same symptoms happening to my computer. I'm on my third replacement as of right now. If you have another PSU laying around, swap it out and see if the system power is persistent.
