(Im New Sorry) AMD FX-83020 8 Core For Gaming

Hey guys, as in the Title, im new here.

I really like gaming.. Have been gaming since i was a kid... Just that since 2009 Games went Berzerk on my PC.

So i decided to upgrade...
Asked around alot and this is what i have now:

+4 GB Ram ( In total 8GB)
*New MSI Radeon 7900 HD Graphics Card
*New 2 Coolermaster fan up back,
Zalman z9 Midtower + 1 Front fan
*New Arctic Freezer pro 7

Amd radeon phenom II X4 965 Proccesor 3.40 GHz

I got told that my Proccesor needs to be upgraded..
Some of my friends advised me to buy a i5 or i7.

Yet Gamers tell me to get the AMD Fx 83020..

So im in a struggle, what is the best to run the Today Hard Running games such as bf3 bf4 crysis farcry etc on atleast high settings?

If your motherboard is compatible with the AMD FX series microprocessors then you may as well go that route and save yourself having to buy a new motherboard as well.

Well my Best friend ( Which is also going to re-build my PC ) Says Intel beats AMD by far in this case.

So im going for the i5 Which motherboard should i get with this?

And will i be able to Run heavy games on High? With atleast a solid 60 fps? or?

Also got 800 Watt power supply thingy
