would it be able to handle cpu intensive games about 2 years from now? im asking because i know this cpu is on a old chipset 1155.thanks

No one knows the exact date your processor will stay alive for, but overclocking will obviously make it's life shorter for the faster speed. Depending on how much performance you have, cooling, it can last several years.

The i5 should be good for at least a couple of years provided you mate it with the proper chip set. Use the stock cooler as long as it keeps the CPU cool. Don't over clock unless you must and then replace the HSF. Technologically, the CPU will be out dated long before it dies a normal death. Nobody can predict a catastrophic death.

A 3570k can safely do 4.0ghz without a voltage increase with just a Hyper TX3. Just set the multiplier to 40 and done. Buying a K series chip and not overclocking is pretty pointless. If not overclocking, spend a little more on cpu and get a Xeon 1230 v2. You could then spend a little bit less on motherboard as you wouldn't need a z77 board unless you want to run SLI or CF.
