How can i test if my gpu and ram isnt broken?

How to test wheter my ram and gpu is broken or not?
Im about to put them in my new build, at first I want to make sure ,that they are not broken, how to do that? And what could happen if i would put a broken ram and gpu in an other system , can it harm it?

On a new build, I first test the ram in a motherboard outside of the case.
Memtest86+ will boot without a os.
Unless the pins are broken, no harm will come if the ram fails, just return it.

You can test the gpu in the same way. A gpu will have a low res default mode that needs no os or driver.
Again, unless the mounting tab is defective, no harm will come if the unit is defective. It just won't work.

On mounting anything, realize that parts are keyed and fit only one way. Just don't force anything and you will be ok.
