i think if u change mobo ull need to backup drivers.

usually its recommanded to do a fresh install of windows.

well on a plus side the hero overclocks better and has better quality components than the asus z. and ull have 8 cores 4 physical and 4 logical with the 4770k.

id go for it 100$ good deal, if u dont mind reinstalling apps and games.

Well you likely won't see a huge performance difference right now, but games are beginning to utilize the more efficient processing power provided by Hyperthreading. Battlefield 4, for instance, chews up every available processing thread you can throw at it. I would say it is a good investment, as you will also upgrade from a dead socket.

Considering that $100 represents the retail delta between a 3570K and a 4770K it might be reasonable.
But if you have a decent overclock on the 3570K there will be negligible difference in performance.
The reason is that so few games can use even 2-3 cores, the hyperthreads of the i7 are largely useless.

You may not be able to make the swap without a os clean reinstall and the attendant effort of reinstalling your games.
I might think your chances are 50/50 that you could boot with the new motherboard and be able to install the needed new drivers.
