i have a ps3, 360 and core i5 4430 desktop with an outdated graphics card currently. I'm pretty good with this stuff and older. I was in best buy the other day and they had the ps4 and i had to buy it but still deciding. I messed around with it and its about what i expected.

Thing is hardware wise if i put a gtx660 graphics card in my i5 ill be about on par with the ps4... But the pc doesn't have those few exclusive games. I'm not overly feeling these new consoles. They are basically pc's and not a huge jump from last gen as far as power is concerned. They just are more what last gen should have been as far as multitasking and downloading thigns faster and getting crisper graphics and framerates.

I could upgrade my pc go on steam. But again the pc doesnt really have any games that stand out over the consoles where i play the show, infamous, uncharted etc....

i'm about to put my ps3 on ebay and just not upgrading my pc to cover the difference in cost..... Still sucks though because i dont see a huge jump to these new consoles.

any help?

my advice would be just to wait it out. if there's nothing that jumps out at you about them right away, then don't jump on buying them right away. my perspective is from someone who owns all 3 consoles last gen and every one of them has been collecting dust for about 2 - 3 years. almost every game i'd want to play is also on PC, so i just use steam or origin to get them, and if you can wait a month or two or so after release, the sales are usually ridiculously good. BF4 had only been out for a month and i got the digital deluxe version for $25.

obviously for games like infamous, uncharted, halo, gears, etc. you need a console. but, you can always wait til those games are released before you make the purchase, chances are they might...
in my opinion consoles are really only good if you have friends that have them. Mostly everyone is leaning towards pc in my opinion. consoles are still nice in cases, I cant move my pc anywhere its 3 feet tall and weighs close to 100 pounds haha.
