Budget Range: (e.g.: 300-400) Before / After Rebates; Before / After Shipping: Ideally 1200-1400 including OS
System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming, movie watching
Are you buying a monitor: No
Parts to Upgrade: Whole new box and everything in it (need wi-fi capability too for internet)
Do you need to buy OS: Yes, likely Windows 8 64-bit - any opinions on pro vs. non-pro?
Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Probably newegg, seems the easiest, but I'm open to suggestions.
Location: Allentown, PA
Parts Preferences: Probably Intel for gaming as that seems to be the consensus. I would prefer quieter components and don't mind using a bit more of my budet for that, if you guys have any suggesetions - i.e., a better case, better fan mounts etc (as long as those aren't too difficult to install)
Overclocking: For a first attempt, I don't think so.
SLI or Crossfire: Maybe - Don't think my budget would allow for two vid cards, but the option to upgrade might be nice.
Your Monitor Resolution: 1600 X 1200
Additional Comments: Quiet PC to the extent it isn't horrendously expensive. I'm not trying to max settings on games, would like to play Battlefield 4, Diablo 3 and be able to play games decently for the next year or two, if that's possible.
And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: I've got a POS laptop and want a new desktop.
