Hey guys,

I'm looking at updating my graphics card, currently a HD 6670 to a HD 7870 for my gaming rig, I've looked over the specs and I think my motherboard is compatible however I'm a bit concerned that my PSU (a Corsair VS450 - 450w) will not be able to power the new card. Could anyone confirm whether I will need a new PSU?

Current specs -
Gigabyte Mobo - GA-78LMT-USB3
AMD FX6300 CPU - Running @ 3.7GHz
2 Sticks of 4gb DDR3 RAM
AMD HD 6670 GFX card
Seagate 1 TB Barracuda HDD
450w PSU - Corsair VS 450

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You should upgrade the PSU to something in the area of 600-650w or higher....

No your psu can't handle a 7870. For that you at least need a 500w
