No boot options on priority list in BIOS

First build, not very technically knowledgable, and am amazed that I got this rig to run!

So I think I know what the problem is but it involves me hooking some things up to the motherboard if I am right. Basically, my computer runs and I can get into BIOS, but there are no options on my ASUS MB EZ MODE BIOS. I decided to try a blank USB flash drive, and voila, two options for a USB device and a "UEFI" version of the USB show up (which Im not 100% of why there are 2 versions, guess I gotta research that some). Note: I tried the advanced settings, tried switching from AHCI to IDE and RAID, tried booting from legacy OPROM (which I assume is the legacy plug plugged into optical drive), attempted to put a password in in order to disable secure boot, but there was no real option to turn secure boot off, possible I overlooked it and will try again. None of these worked and are solutions that other people have used with my same problem.

Anyways, during the build, cable wise, I hooked fans, cpu, gpu, 24pin, all to the motherboard. However, I hooked the optical drive and the hard drive up straight from the power supply. My optical drive has power and opens, but does not show up as an option to boot up on BIOS.

Im pretty sure I gotta hook the HDD and Optical drive up to the motherboard as well, but just wanted to confirm. This is very sad as well, and I looked in the manual, but I cannot figure out where to put the little speaker beeper in my mobo either! Im sure Id be getting some beep errors right now but with that not on I cannot hear them. My HD audio plug from the case is hooked up though, but yeah, two different things I guess.

Please help my poor soul, and may the computer gods have mercy on me.

Solution
Depending on what motherboard you bought, there should be 2-8 SATA cables inside your box that the motherboard came in. There should be an extra port on the back of both your optical drive and your hard drive. Connect the SATA cable into that extra port. Then connect the other side into the motherboard. The ports in the motherboard should look like this:

Now you can close your case and boot back into your bios to choose the boot options. Have fun! :)
yes you will need to hook a sata cable up to both harddrive and optical drive. look inside the motherboard box and they should have sent 2-4 of them. There should be a bank of 4, 6, or 8 sata ports on the motherboard where you will plug the HDD and optical into. Since this is a new build I'm going to go out on a limb and say that the MB does not have the old style ribbon cable anymore so you may have to upgrade the optical drive if you didn't buy a new one with the build.

Man you guys are fast. I was hoping to come answer my own question. My optical drive came with no cables which was confusing. However, my mobo came with 2 spare SATA cables that I completely forgot I had set to the side. Lesson learned, be more organized when building next rig.

Im installing windows as we speak! Thanks for the replies anyways! Hopefully this will help someone else one day.
