Hello guys,

So, I've got a FX-6300 with the stock cooler. I'm thinking about getting an aftermarket cooler for my CPU because the stock one really does sound like a plane and my temps are getting around 55-59 C. I know this isn't too hot, but I just want to be sure ;). My interest fell for the Arctic Alpine 64 plus and Arctic Alpine 64 pro, but I'm not really sure which is the best to get for my intentions (so, less loud and a little bit cooler). The problem is I couldn't find that many reviews of them on the internet so that's why I'm asking help over here. So my question is, which one will you chose, or do you have other suggestions for a cooler under the €15? (I live in the Netherlands)

Thank you in advance!

EDIT: Temps are when gaming, not idle

Yes, I've came across the CM hyper 212 quite a few times now. Problem is, I'm getting a little nervous when I see all those plates, nuts and bolts that come with it for installation since I'm not experienced at all when it comes to PC building. I do have got a custom PC, but I bought it from a company that assembles it for like €40 more than the price for when you buy all the components and put it together yourself.
And, you are basically saying that when you want a decent upgrade over the stock cooler you pretty much have to go with a 120mm fan, am I correct?

Some coolers with 92mm fans can be very good. Noctua, for example.

If you will be replacing the cooler, it is really very easy, assuming you have access to the back side of the motherboard.
If there is no access, then you will need to remove the motherboard to do the job.

Better coolers will have a simple backplate mount that is actually easier to mount than the pushpin type mounts.
The backplate is screwed to the motherboard, and the cooler is screwed or clipped to the backplate.

All the coolers will have detailed instructions, and you can probably find a video for the popular coolers.

After some searching I found the CM TX3 evo, if I understand the little brother of the hyper 212 basically. It's quite a bit lower in the price here than the 212 but it has a 92mm fan. Now the reviews say it doesn't make too much noise, only if you OC your CPU the fan will start to be noisy. I indeed found a installation video of it and it doesn't seem too difficult really. Just a few screws. Any people who have experience with this thing?
