Recently just completed building my brother's computer for his Christmas gift. Installed Windows no problem and was sitting on desktop when suddenly I tried to open file explorer and it froze. After rebooting it startup repair was launched and claims to be repairing disk errors.

There isn't much time left to RMA parts so I really need to find the cause of this fast. Any help is much appreciated.

Parts:
Gigabyte F2A55M-HD2
AMD 750k
Radeon 7790
Refurbished WD 7200 RPM 250 GB HDD
500W Evga power supply

No drivers were installed yet and I haven't connected to the internet yet.

Solution
It is probably the HDD. Remove it completely and try to boot to the bios. You run memtest from the bios of a CD, so you do not need a HDD connected.

Well I can't run memtest when my computer won't boot... Still stuck at "Attempting to repair disk errors." I guess I'll just return this one and go the the nearest TigerDirect and buy it in store. Really need to finish this before Christmas. Any other way I can see if this RAM is at fault before I waste my time doing this?

Alright I'm going to try that tomorrow before I RMA it. Hopefully next one will get here before Christmas *fingers crossed*. He's coming home from school now so I gotta pack it all up. Thank you for help!
