Is it possible to get my own isp

Solution
Budget is not the only issue. There is a reason why u have max 10Mbps conn.s .Because the cables are very low cost and of shit quality. U will have to lay down the cables itself which is the biggest issue if u are trying to do that in a busy city.

I know this entrepreneur from New Zealand

who claimed that he will bring fibre optic connections to India. He claimed that in 2009. Such a jerk
What he is doing now? Tying up with existing cable operators to provide service. Means nothing changed
Not quite. I was part of a 3 man partnership in a local ISP back in the late 90's. You still have to pay for backhaul and interconnection to the Internet from tier one providers.

You don't need to be a billionaire, but be prepared to take out a huge business loan. ;)

Monthly cost for data. I can't give a dollar figure as data has come down in price in the last decade, except for wireless which is ridiculous. I do know at the time, our breakeven point was between 800 and 1200 customers. Luckily we had over 6000 customers. When cable and phone companies started rolling out residential data we sold our business as we knew we wouldn't be able to compete with them.

A 100mb/s dedicated line will run you about $3,000/month, but for $6,000, you can get a 1gb/s dedicated line. You pay more for the line and the SLA than the bandwidth.

If you have your own fiber, you can buy transit for about $0.45/mbit. Actual bandwidth is cheap.

Wow! Data prices really have dropped in the last 10+ years. The local loop and SLA are still pricey.
