Hello guys!

I just installed my new XFX r9 280x GPU in to my PC (Gigabyte GA-970A-D3P, AMD FX 6350, 8Gb Ram and 650 PSU).

The graphics card seem to have some problems with Catalyst drivers and Aero effects on Windows 7 and Windows8.

While installing the system everything goes well, but after installing catalyst software (needed to get aero features) driver crashes all time and screen gets some colored dots/spots appearing randomly on the monitor.

I have already talked o support and they said that all other hardware parts should work fine with that card. But the card itself is lagging and crashing all time.

Does anyone may know what is it about?

You can watch the video and see how it looks.

Windows 8 don't have Aero, but to me that sounds like you card is bad. I'd check with XFX and get a replacement. Dots on the screen is not a good sign, when the driver crashes it should return to normal with a message that the driver has stopped. Also make sure both of the power cables are plugged into the back/side of the card. Uninstall and re install your drivers, Don't get the drivers from XFX, use the drivers from AMD. Should be 13.12 for the newest.
