How much can a DDC1T handle?

Hello,

Basically, I would like to know whether my DDC1T can handle the following two loops, loop one and loop two. The pump was a steal at roughly £15, and I'd love to know what it can achieve.

Loop One:
DDC1T (10W) + EK X-RES 100 Top
EK 7970 DCII Acetal Waterblock
XSPC EX240 Radiator with 2x Yate Loon D12SL
6x XSPC Black Chrome Compression Fittings
1m XSPC 16/11 High Flex Tubing

Loop Two:
DDC1T (10W) + EK X-RES 100 Top
EK 7970 DCII Acetal Waterblock
EK LTX AMD Copper Waterblock
2x XSPC EX240 Radiators with 2x Yate Loon D12SLs each
10x XSPC Black Chrome Compression Fittings
2m XSPC 16/11 High Flex Tubing

Any input is greatly appreciated!

Regards
Luke

Hello Flightsumluke,

The specifications here say that the DDC1T water pump is capable of a total of 18W Nominal power (normal usage).
With what you included with your two loop descriptions, your total power would equate to 20W.
With this pump, it may be under heavy stress with normal load provided by your loop.

My suggestion?
Get a beter pump.
It would be a huge loss if, for whatever reason, the pump failed, and your electronics burnt up!
I know pumps aren't incredibly cheap, but i'm sure the parts you're cooling are not cheap either!

You can get the loop set up, and run it, but watch it closely!
If there is any sign of the pump struggling, it may not make the cut.

Not sure if you have your answer already, but since I have 2 of these pump (from BMaverick DDC pumps) I thought I would share my experience with them. I have 2 pump in a dual loop config. They are both fed from an XSPC split dual bay res (one pump to each side). I have never had any issues with these pumps over 2 years of use.
CPU loop:
200mm Phobya Rad
140mm Black Ice GT rad
Phobya UC-1 CPU block
2-3' of 12mm acrylic tubing with multiple bends

GPU loop:
Coolgate 140mm rad
Koolance 3 x 140mm rad (30fpi version)
2 x EK FC-5870 full cover GPU blocks
2-3' of 12mm acrylic with multiple bends.

This was a gaming rig originally. As of August or September I converted to hard acrylic tube from 1/2 x 3/4 durelene and started using this rig for mining litecoins. The system stays on 24-7 and so far the pumps are still going strong. I know they won't last forever with the load I am placing on them - but I am well pleased with what I have gotten out of them thus far.

Hope that helps!

Hello,

Thanks for sharing, I haven't quite decided yet but I'm getting an EK DCP4.0 for comparison, I'll run my own tests on both.

Luke
