Best Graphics Card for FX-6350 under $100. Radeon HD 7770?

My friend is builing a budget gaming build with an FX-6350. We've picked out all the parts except the graphics card. His budget is $100. He's not overclocking. His current monitor is 1440x900 native resolution, but he is going to upgrade to a 1920x1080 res monitor in the future. My pick for his card is this:

1. Is a 1GB 7770 the best GPU I can get at this price point? I know on this budget sacrifices will have to be made for high frames (like anti-aliasing), but I just want to know if this GPU can run games like Skyrim, Diablo 3, WoW, etc. with high frames at 1920x1080 res. The benchmarks for the 7770 seem well within standards with anti-aliasing off, but I was unsure on the how a 1GB 7770 card would handle the 1920x1080 res

2. Any other suggestions for GPUs that suit his needs that are frequently as this price point? I'm not sure he wants to wait too long for the perfect deal to come along, but some tend to come along more than others, and was wondering if there was any valuable buyer insight there.

Ram: 8GB (2x4)
PSU: 550w Bronze

Thanks in advance for any feedback!

unlike your mobo's RAM, you can't really add VRAM if you're worried you don't have enough. if the price difference isn't massive or if you can offset it elsewhere in the build, then get the 2GB version if you'll feel more at ease. heck, that's what i would do, even if it turns out that teh GPU only really needs 1.2GB for whatever games you'd be playing.

all else being equal - what's the $$ difference in the cards you're looking at, 1GB versus 2GB?

I think he's really looking to stay in at below $100, the 7790's shipping pushes it higher than that but I'll ask if he thinks he wants to go for that. There was a 7850 2GB for $99 on Black Friday, but that ship has sailed...

Will the 7770 and 7790 meet standards anyway?

Hmm ok, what kind of performance gain are we talking about moving from a 7770 to a 7790? I guess I could compare benchmarks for frames, but when it comes to resolution performance that's more of a 1GB vs 2GB debate right?

Oh nice! I think when I saw this one earlier it said Out of Stock so I moved on, looks like that changed.

Niiiice! Man if that's true that might change everything heh. Let me run some of these by my friend and see what he thinks. Still feeling uneasy about taking a 1GB to 1920x1080 res... seems like some sources say that more games are requiring 2GB these days to perform (and in the future...), but at this price point you say the cards aren't fast enough to run 2GB anyway, so it wouldn't help here? Bit of a pickle...

The FX-6350 was already purchased. It was a Black Friday deal where it was the same price as the FX-6300, and since he isn't overclocking, he already purchased it.
