My build:
1.) ASUS M5A97 R2.0 mobo
2.) AMD FX-6300 CPU
3.) MSI Radeon HD 7870 ghz edition graphics card
4.) Corsair Vengeance blue 8gb 2x4GB 1600mhz
4.) Corsair CX600M 600 watt PSU
5.) CM Hyper 212 Evo CPU fan

I'm getting really frustrated about my first build. I've got everything set up and I'm ready for my first boot up. I've used the parts necessary for a test boot but nothing seems to show up on my monitor. Everything is plugged in properly (CPU, Mobo, and graphics card power) but it still says no signal. All fans are spinning and the power LED on the mobo is lit steadily but still nothing.

I've tried the following:
1.) placing the memory to every slot.
2.) flashed the BIOS to the newest one via BIOS flashback button.
3.) placed the graphics card to the other PCIe slot
4.) CMOS clear
5.) pressed MemOK after every slot combination of the memory
6.) removed CPU and MOBO power for 10 mins
7.) checked the CPU for bent pins but nothing's bent.
8.) Tried using both DVI and HDMI output.

I don't really know what's wrong with it. Am I doing something wrong ? Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Solution
I suggest buying one and attaching it to the motherboard, start with only CPU and CPU fan connected and see if getting 1 long 2 short beeps.
If no beeps, you would narrow down the troubleshooting to board and CPU.
Otherwise, you might try testing the board outside the case, one RAM stick installed, graphics card, keyboard, mouse, DVD drive.
Consider also testing the monitor with a different PC. just to make sure that it does work.

yep all components are new. but unfortunately, I don't have any case speaker to tell what's wrong. My case didn't come with it which is kind of stupid but yeah I don't have it.

yessir. everything's plugged in correctly. both 8-pin and 24-pin ones. even the couple 6-pins from the graphics card.

yeah I've tried both DVI and HDMI ports and still no signal. I really starting to wonder which component is defective.

You have one thing on your list which proved to be a costly journey for me, the Coolermaster 212 hyper evo. It is a pain to install, and when i plugged the power back in there was slight crackling sound. It started and ran well, but eventually things got bad. I found a thin line of arctic 5 spread over the top of a few soldered circuits and assumed that was the problem, but for me at least it is hard to make the backplate tight enough to not allow free turning on the cpu side of the board when installing the behemoth. I also know I scratched the mobo a couple times, but doubt that was the issue. This one thing actually proved to be the beginning of many days of reading. I am no longer afraid to work on my computer and can build one from scratch, but there is still so much to learn. and have you considered the possibility your Mobo is D.O.A. ? There is percentage of hardware that ships out non-functional, and this says enough without me having to go into where all of this is made.

I'm having the same issue with a FX8320. I've tried everything no luck so far. Funny thing is that if you try any CPU below 95W , it boots. I realized that using several old CPUs like Sempron. Looks like Asus is having several issues with that, is not the first Asus mobo I've seen not able to run FX 6x and above even when they say is fully compatible.

I also have an AMD FX8320 which does not work on my motherboard, which is a gigabyte ga-970a-d3p.

If you need a list of processors that are compatible with the motherboard, look here: http://www.gigabyte.com/support-downloads/cpu-support-popup.aspx?pid=3908
