Sup. I just put a new HDD into my rig>>> http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822178379, and just finished downloading the latest drivers/Win Updates. That been said, I noticed everytime I restarted, the starting windows screen takes about 45secs-1minute to load. Login takes barley 1-2secs, and everything else seems to be working as intended. That been said, is there any way to adjust this? Everything I've read has pointed to a dying drive, but in the thought optimisim I just picked this up, as well it has no problems in any other departments.

As for programs on startup, I have very few- of which cannot be the problem as there is literaly nothing but an OS on the drive.

My copy of Win7 is legitamate, as was the 100$+tax I spent on it, so that's not the problem.

My other specs are:
Gtx780
I5 3570k
Win 7
16gigs ram
620w PSU
Mobo is a z68-ud3h b3
etc,etc.

As for reference, the screen is as follows:

If anyone has any recommendations for any of the above, I would appreciate it greatly. Thanks.

In short, get an SSD but to answer your immediate question, yes it is your hard drive. This is a typical issue with mechanical hard drives as boots take substantially longer than a solid state disk. Usually slowing or gradually slowing boots are indicative of a failing drive. If you start up programs are also taking a while (i.e. right after you log in) this is also an indication.

I recommend you save up money and purchase a boot SSD drive. :)

Is the hard drive actually new or "new".. as it it's 'new' to me and I borrowed it from a friend type new.

Thanks for the response, and it's new as in I just opened the box from Newegg yesterday, and my previous drive loaded from start faster than my current one.
