Can Motherboards Damage Ram?

I have a homebuilt system that isn't working, and I'm not sure if the MB, RAM, or CPU is at fault. My friend offered to let me use his RAM to test if that's the problem, but was concerned that if the MB is DOA, it might hurt his RAM.

Is there any chance of that happening?

When all the parts are in there isn't any sound or visual output from the GPU, MB, speakers, or MB speaker. All the fans (CPU and case) work fine on power up, and all those are attached to the MB.

I'm not getting any POST beep from the MB. The only sound I can get is three long beeps when I take out the memory.

I haven't altered the voltage manually at all, and the MB should be able to handle the DDR3-1600 1.50v memory just fine.
