graphic card for editing and converting clips $300 range (no games). I have a Asus P6x58D MB, I7-975 3.33ghz extreme cpu, Kinston HYPER X DDR3/1600 12GB Memory, Corsair 1000HX PSU, and a EVGA GTX 480 1.5GB Card that I want to replace.

Solution
I think your CPU should be fine and the Quadro K2000 is an excellent choice.

The Quadro is a professional line of graphics cards for video editing. They are a bit on the pricey side with the one you mentioned starting at $419.00 at Tiger Direct and $429.00 at Newegg and B&H Photo. The B&H site has some good details on the specs. The links to those three sites are listed below.

Corel VideoStudio Pro X 6 also Micro Soft Movie Maker nothing fancy, I have a lot of my girls 20 years ago playing softball and soccer, vacations etc. most was converted to cd's off of film and the quality is bad but I can't do nothing about that. I am retired and on fixed income and it takes awhile to save up, I will have $400.00 shortly and thought the video card was the way to go. I hope I am in the right place on this form. I answered on the 11th but I don't see it here, Thank You for your time.

Since I don't do gaming it was suggested that a Quadro K2000 card might be better, do you have any information on this line of workstation graphic cards?
I started out after a R9 280X card but none are available and I am not sure that is the way to go. Now I don't know if my GTX 480 is what's holding me back or if it is something else. I thought the I7-975 3.33GHZ Extreme CPU would still be enough for what I need even though it is 4 years old now. Any thoughts greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your time, I am buying the k2000 from Egghead, they have a $50 rebate and I have dealt with them for years. When or if I ever get the money for a new computer I will upgrade the video to the Quadro Kepler 4000 or 5000 board. Thank You again for your help.

Glad I could help. Would love to hear how it all works out for you.
