Which parts should I use to build a PC with my budget?

I've been running on a Compaq Presario SR5708F since the thing was new and it's about time to get rid of it and start with something new.

I have a small $300-350 to spend and I'm thinking I want to use it to build a new computer. If any of you fine people could make suggestions to what hardware/case to get, that'd be great.

EDIT:

I'll be using the PC mostly for HD video/image editing and occasional gaming (would like to be able to achieve at least 30 fps on pretty much every game if possible with the budget).

Save more money, with 350 max your getting nothing worth putting your money into, unless you are recycling parts. But you would have to be recycling expensive parts. You could get a a decent system to start off with for around 400-450

Would the PC I listed as having now be worth upgrading? I doubt that it would be, but I'm not very familiar with the hardware aspects of computers so I just don't know. . .

Lol, save up, I'm guessing you're a teenager. I'm 16 and just built a pc and got a 24 inch monitor last week and payed 800 bucks for all of it. My PC is a beast compared to what could be put together for the 400-450 dollar range, and at 500 I would again just save up. I don't think it's worth it to invest in a rig unless you are confident it will pay off. I am confident mine will pay off. I am still working to make back the money spent, so that I can afford my car and insurance costs in the future, but don't invest in something you won't be proud of.
