I'm looking to update my audio driviers and 2.73 is the latest one I found. The problem is that my chipset (ASRock z77 Extreme4/ALC898) isn't on the list of supported hardware for the driver. I installed the driver anyways, but I'm wondering if I could have screwed things up by using an unsupported driver on my chipset. So far things are working ok.

I figured maybe running the wrong driver for my chipset could cause stability issues or potentially damage something due to compatibility issues. If you don't think it can harm anything then I can rest easier, I suppose. The only reason I bothered with this in the first place is that Battlefield 4 sound loop crashes on me frequently, and I was told that updating my audio drivers would fix it. So far it hasn't fixed that problem, but I haven't had any other problems.
