Good afternoon,
I am putting together my first build, and have installed 8gb of Kingston Hyper x Blu on my Asus z87-A motherboard. I noticed in the BIOS that the default speed was 1333mhz, even though the ram is spec'd at 1600mhz. After reading around there were several suggestions to enable the XMP profile (i have core i5 4670k cpu). Am I able to enable XMP, even though it doesn't say it is supported? I enabled it briefly but encountered an error, and when I disabled it everything's been fine. I've never done any type of overclocking, but would like my ram to run at 1600mhz as advertised. Thanks.
Here's a link to the RAM in question, note the model # doesn't have an X at the end.
