Is the gtx 760 a good upgrade

I want to upgrade my pc for 250 dollars. I have a 7850 currently.

yes it will be, but a second 7850 in crossfire will perform better.

It's one small step up in GPU tier and one generation newer, so it's a solid upgrade, but what else are you running in your system?

A 760 would be good.

If you were going to attempt to crossfire the 7850s, you would need a larger PSU.

Go with the 760.

I really dont want to crossfire. Crossfire isnt well optimized right now. I might end up putting in another 760 because I hear it makes for good performance.

Crossfire is optimized awesomely right now. And your PSU is plenty for a Crossfire setup.

my dad doesnt think getting a 760 isnt a good idea because I got this pc 2 months ago. But I want to use nvidia shadowplay and it is better performance

crap, crossfire still doesnt work properly, it is not "optimized", many unsupported games, stuttering in certain games etc, etc.it works well in a handful of games on single displays only.
