I maxed out the OC of my card and want to increase the voltage, but the voltage increase may not be applying?

I'm using MSI afterburner to change the Core Voltage, yet the VDDC in GPU-Z isn't changing when I do so. Are the voltage changes not applying or is there something I'm missing?

MSI Radeon 6950 2GB, which I should easily be able to change the voltage on.
The core voltage slider isn't grayed at all, and everything seems like it applies like it should, but the VDDC in GPU-Z never changes.

try sapphire trixx. also msi afterburner there is a tweak you need to do to it to unlock voltage after a certain driver update, if you google it.

Try putting it under load..or try different versions of Trixx..one of the top 5 should work for your card.
Sometimes you have to use 1 for voltage and and a diff version for clocking.

I did what both of you said, which definitely sounds logical in theory. The results, however, were much different.
It starts up with a 0.9000V VDDC for some reason, and when I put it under full load (No matter how long it is), it goes up to 1.1750V, but that's its max. It never goes any higher even though the VDDC while using Trixx says it's at 1200. Also, after it's done on full load and it switches to idle, it stays on the default 1.1750V and doesn't go back to 0.9000 V

In case you're wondering btw, I chose 1200 over time so that it wouldn't be dangerous for the GPU while still being high enough to where it should be a noticeable difference for GPU-Z to detect.

in sapphire trixx options there should be something to force constant voltage or something, you could try that. otherwise it might be bios locked. You can try flash with another bios but that is always risky. if your card has dual bios switch, then you remove that risk by having a backup.

if Trixx, AB or Precision won't change the voltage it's voltage locked. You may be able to edit the BIOS using VBE if it supports your card. This is much less risky than flashing with a new unknown BIOS, but you can still screw it up. Do you have a BIOS switch so you can recover?

I didn't think the force constant voltage option would work for some reason, but it totally did. Thanks. :)
