And another problem is i try to update bios via AI Suite and i pressed connect and it updated, then when i restarted my pc and i go to the update application again, it show the same file after i pressed connect. Is there anything i had done wrong, need advise, and also it is normal to have red LED light remain on the Mobo? (Not Blinking)

Did you just swap boards and run the same OS install? If so what about drivers for your current Hardware on the new board? BIOS update you only do if something is wrong and there is more than a 100x bigger chance it going wrong with live update under windows than doing it right of a boot able USB drive or disc!

ya, enabled , but not hardware fast boot. and btw since i update my Bios in the AI Suit via EZ update e which i see that it not a proper way to update, will it affect my pc in future? Even now when i still press the EZ update, it still come out with the same Bios version that i had updated earlier on.

Hi Rolli,

So how should i do a proper Bios update after i downloaded the file and also for a Red LED ( not blinking ) is that a normal color ? or should it be green as my previous board?

were i come from red means danger. there should be bios update steps in your manual weather its with there software or manualy like off a pen drive you may be hard perssed to got advice on that no one wants to be the blame for a bricked bios. asus should be stright fowared on doing with a pen drive witch i found to be the best way for me to update. asus should have a page that spells out how to do it i just dont trust that auto on line update i like to get the file first. all boards have that disclaimer about updating is a risk your own risk.

If you used this method you did it right http://vip.asus.com/forum/view.aspx?id=20070215223109668&board_id=1 I may have be mistaken thinking you did it under windows. The red led I do not know what is and could not find in quick glans through the manual.

Hi,

My Red light is on the switch button which is not blinking and i still can access to my window and the Mobo able to boot up, wonder if it a normal LED color for Z87-Plus Mobo. Btw i had just update my Bios to latest via Ai Suite with manual file, and the window startup still slow, and i just checked my RAM, it only 800 MHZ frequency and i was told that i bought a 1600MHZ will that affect my startup as the previous Mobo also using the same ram, does startup faster den this new Mobo.

let me get right with this ... you boot to load windows but it takes a long time for windows to get to the desktop? right if so as with my asus board i had to remove that asus Ai Suite that caused me nothing but issues. i installed uninstalled it a lot of times and just uninstalled it for good. you should do that and see be sure ypu get it all out like it was never installed in the first place. and see what it will do then i found i my asus rig i never should of installed the there stuff to start with. but hay thats up to you you can always reinstal it if you fell thats needed so you can start with that and kinda go down the list of things to add or remove and retry. also look in the event viewer for errors that my be causing a slow startup. it may show a driver or somthing hanging you up

Ya, do agree with you, but i just feel slightly slow as previously when i in the window startup, b4 the window start to combine together im already in my desktop , but right now i need to wait until the window logo combined and for 1 sec den i only can boot into my desktop page. So i feel kind of weird, i bought a better motherboard and a 4770k and it seem i get slower start up compare to the old 1? Btw it is normal for me to get 800MHZ in my CPUZ while i purchased 1600MHZ ram?

ya 800x2 =1600 for duel sided my [1] 1600 gskill ripjaws shows 668.9 . witch is 1333 more or less single side defult. well i dont know about better my last build was not ''better'' than the one it replaced. it cost more and newer tech, but not better. it use to be you got nice quility stuff and it worked well now it seems that you get somthing and hope it works. but back to the slow windows for me it the c.c.c for the amd vid.card that takes some time to load. this board i am useing now is a asus but i dought i will get an asus again. this one has been a let down[saberetooth 990fx] i been through 2 of them and just gave up. i just run it at defult with one stick of memory and it works ok. anything more than that i got issues with it not happy . my buddy got one right after mine came in and it did not work right and he ended up getting a 990fxud3. and he allways used asus [he talked me in to asus] only up to then so with us it was 3 asus boards all failed. my first build was an socket A amd from msi and its sitting here ready to go its old and slow but it fires up and runs well for what it is , and my old giga 590sli rig that ran like a charm got hit by lighting. so i got them am3+ sabertooth boards that been nothing but a letdown. also he and i talked about how it seems over the last few years how a lot of the stuff we get has been sub par or dont work well sub standered what ever. you know cheap made in china junk. its like quility is an after thuoght. well good luck

dude i just would not give it up so fast. like i said its hard to determan what your issue realy is. for how i was reading in to your post is that when you turn on the computer it posts, and then go's to the windows is loading screen just before going to desktop, and just sits there awile, or its gets to the desktop and something is still trying to load and your waiting for that to finish up [for me its the vid card c.c.c] in the desktop, so i most times got to wait for it to finish up to go on. [mine go's from post to a black screen with windows logo with a timer bar thing, and then to password screen and then to desktop] . like i say, use to never have all these issues with a build years ago but the last few lately have been a pain. like this rig i'm on now [asus sabertooth 990fx] i never got it to ''fully''work . ended up finding that if i keep the bios at defult and just use one stick of memory its fine no issues, but if i do any thing more than that with it its back to bsod, hang, crash. between my buddy and myself we got parts to swap and try so it was for me the board, but as long as i run it like i said everything at defult it fires up and runs well everyday nonstop. but then again thats not what i spent that money for on a asus board. 3 sabertooth builds 3 fails. and each board had there own parts so it was the boards bought new from newegg at 3 differant times not togeather. so to get back to you i would tinker with it some more and hunt down a issue and learn from it and you may get lucky and fint the issue and come out ahead youy never know till you try. i did not figure out what it took to get this one stable overnight it took a lot of trial and error. so good luck.

Hi there, just found out what actually causes te window start up slow, it due to a Asus driver called as Amedia Sata which can be found in the disc come together with Mobo, I uninstall that drive and now my startup is 2 time faster den previous, thanks for the motivation bro.

ha ha ha yaaa buddy. thats what i found with mine seemed that the crap on that asus disk are junk . i also found that had to go on mine . its like i said that i wished i had not loaded any of them myself but you live and learn. well good for you. and i'm glad yop did not give up on it. i hope i was helpfull.

true but like me i live in the third world part of the U.S.of A and dont have high speed internet the best here is 56k dialup [thanks AT&T for keeping me in the 80"s] or satelite. and due to weather and trees satelite is not good at all. so lots of large file downloads are not easy. i did not know how you did yours. but anyway i guess its now still working out for you? seems like i also had to remove the asmeida from mine and just let windows controal that. its been awile. but any more i just load windows and let the defult windows drivers run everything then go from there one at a time and check it and do another and so forth. hope you now will get some good enjoyment from your rig. good luck.
