Anything better than a Asus vs239h-p for the price?

I like the fact that it is a IPS panel and 60hz and the size of it but $170 seems kind of expensive is there anything better either for that price or for cheaper?

  1. Best answer
seems about right for a decent ips panel.
  2. Is a IPS panel that much better than a TN? I'm 14 and into pc gaming but I just don't want to throw $170 down the drain.
  3. Compared to the vs238h-p that is a tn panel its not that much more.
  4. well whats ur budget.
  5. I wouldn't want to spend anything more than $180
  6. Honestly I can get a new graphics card instead of a monitor.
  7. whats ur current pc and monitor?
  8. I have a AMD FX 6300 a GTX 560 ti 8gb ddr3 1333 ram. Non Overclockable motherboard. Crappy case. Standard Acer 17" or 19" not widescreen. Displays 1024x768
  9. I was also looking at this. http://www.amazon.com/Asus-VS229H-P-22-Inch-Class-21-5-Monitor/dp/B005S0XYKK/ref=sr_1_4?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1386728274&sr=1-4&keywords=asus+vs239h-p Which is 1.5 inches smaller but for like 20 bucks less is it not as appealing to look at?
  10. its nice but a 1.5 inches less. depends on u.

20$ for 1.5inches is more expensive than subway but its digital :D
  11. xD yeah If there are no other draw back I think I might be interested in the smaller one. I wouldn't pay 26 dollars more for 1.5 inches. I just like Widescreens which my acer is not. 26 dollars more can help me get Either the CM Storm Quickfire Rapid or The ATH m50s
  12. i guess get the 22 incher than.

    no drawbacks nar.
  13. Well 145/22 is about 6 dollars. so 6 dollars per inch you would be paying 26 dollars more for something that is only 9. Is there any other 22 inch that is cheaper or better and an IPS panel than that?
  14. i dont think so not off the top of my head.
  15. Okay thanks.
  16. Would you recommend anything better than a ath m50s or quickfire rapid?

ASUS VS247H-P. A little cheaper and a little newer I think. Either way it's a 2ms IPS panel. There is like 5 of them in my house so I have experience with them.
  18. This says it is a TFT Panel.

  20. What do you think Ice Clock? Worth it?

That is really common for LCD screens. The monitor still utilizes IPS.
  22. But it isn't the same type as the vs229h-p?
  23. well to be honest i really doubt ur eye will see the difference if there both ips panels who cares. they both look decent.
  24. HMMMM Still trying to determine as this monitor will stay with me for years. What would you choose iceclock.
  25. id choose the bigger monitor to be honest.
  26. Okay but the smaller one would have better image quality.

The bigger and newer one will be better more often than not. Either way you won't be disappointed. ASUS makes some of the best budget monitors around, IMHO.
  28. Okay. Thanks.
  29. Thanks for that just watched a video and the 229 looks rather small the 247 looks way better.

Yeah the difference is about 2 inches, which to me is kinda big. I prefer 24"~ screens personally. But to each's own I guess.
