Hi!

Okay, so I've bought my boyfriend new gaming headphones for christmas. I looked them up online and read a lot of reviews, and found a good deal on the Turtle Beach Ear Force M Seven Headphones. Now, I have no idea what to look for with this kind of thing so I relied on the reviews I had read online and ordered a pair.

They arrived the other day and it was only then I read the 'mobile' gaming notice on the box. My partner plays mainly PC games (LOL and steam games I think) and now I've gone and bought headphones for tablets and everything! I am an idiot.

But my main question is, if I buy the adaptor from headphone connector-thingys to USB, can he still use these headphone on the PC and actually get good quality from them?? I paid like $250 and can't return them so I reeeally would like to hear they will work well for him! Please and thank you for any information you can provide !

If your boyfriends sound card is very good, not using the USB connector-thingys may actually produce better sound quality, although it may not be very noticeable with a pair of Turtle Beach headphones...

If your boyfriend does not have a good sound card, then you may want to get a external DAC (digital to audio converter) like this http://www.amazon.com/Behringer-UCA202-Audio-Interface/dp/B000KW2YEI for general music listening purposes, and for gaming an external sound card like this http://www.amazon.com/ASUS-Xonar-Sound-Cards-XONAR_U3/dp/B0054L8GVK or http://www.amazon.com/ASTRO-Gaming-MixAmp-Pro-Xbox-360/dp/B004L6C6BK/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1386733340&sr=1-1&keywords=astro+mixamp with virtual surround sound.

If you are unfamiliar with virtual surround sound, it is when a 7.1 surround sound system is down-mixed to sound good on a stereo system. This is not so popular with audio files who want the most accurate natural sound, but it is popular with gamers who need the most accurate vibrant sound stage to help them get a better vibe of what is going on around them.

That being said, you can use RAZERs Surround sound software, which down mixes the audio channels in the software, and is free for the rest of 2013 http://www.razerzone.com/surround

You may want to talk to your boyfriend if thinking about purchasing an external sound card or DAC, since the Razer software will do fine if the games are just LOL and is FREE.

Basically all modern computers have a 3.5 mm female headphone jack so compatibility with out the USB thingy should be no problem.

I hope I could help you out with out saying too many complicated things..
