Should I Upgrade My Processor?

Hello all,

I've been starting to do a lot of live-streaming and recording for my games lately (more so of live-streaming), and Christmas is coming so it's inquiring me to upgrade certain parts of my 3 month old pc.

I had a budget and since I wanted as much graphics power as possible, I went for the i5-3570k and GTX 770 option. Since I'm really into recording and streaming, I want my viewers to get the best performance possible on their end, and also on my end.

So I've been thinking (depending on how Christmas goes) which would be better. I was thinking about upgrading to a i7-3770k and/or possibly an avermedia live gamer HD capture card.

That would come out to ~$500-550.

The other option I was looking at was the 3930k. With that needing a motherboard, I would need to spend ~$700-800 with the CPU and new mobo.

I love my gaming, but when I want to stream / record 1080p and 60fps, this i5-3570k is just not cutting it. Right now the best I can do without a seriously demanding performance drop is 720p @ 48 FPS (that's not including games like ArmA, DayZ, Outlast, Train Sim, etc.).

Also after looking at reviews, the 3930k should be great in render times, as well as any 3d modeling software and for ArmA.

"Future Proofing" being a dream of mine, this is a hard decision.

Any advice would be great, thanks in advance. ^_^

Well, your best option is the 4930k, x79 motherboard. However you'd need another set of ram, most likely the same ram you are already using just another set. So your budget then balloons to 540'ish for the Cpu, 250'ish for the motherboard, and 60'ish for the ram. Although, you could double your ram again for 60'ish, and add the 3770k and sell your 3570k to mitigate most of the cost. Either set-up a raid 0 with the HDD's or just grab yourself an SSD also.

Here's my system specs right now:

Mobo: ASUS LGA 1155 p8z77 pro
CPU: i5-3570k 4.7 Ghz and 1.17 V-core
GPUs:
ASUS DCUII GTX 770 2GB
Nvidia GeForce 9400 GT (PCI) for my S-video TV
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 2TB 7200 RPM
PSU: Corsair TX850M
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2x4 GB) @1866 Mhz ; 9-10-9-27 timing

*I have yet to use more than 6 GB with photoshop, illustrator, chrome, x-split, and a load of other programs open at the same time.

Then a Corsair H100i Cooler for my CPU

I'm thinking about getting an SSD soon since they're so cheap.

I'm running FiOS, and they're giving me 85 MB/s down, and 35 MB/s up.
I was also thinking of getting another 8 GB if I have free money to spend, but I don't personally think it should be needed, unless otherwise noted. ^_^
