A (perhaps naive) question re: z87 pro wifi antenna

For my first build I chose the Z87-Pro as my mobo. It came with a wifi antenna. As I was attaching the antenna to the board, I discovered that it has a magnetic base--it clamped down to my case (Fractal Design R4).

My question is: will setting the antenna on top of my case risk damaging my computer? Since the wire is not very long, I'd assume you're supposed to let the antenna attach to your case; but on the other hand, having heard stories/rumors/tall tales about magnets damaging computer parts, I figure I'd ask to be sure.

Interesting question .

I have definitely seen older crt monitors harmed by magnets , but I think a computer should be fine . There are plenty of other magnetic fields from electrical flow , and everything that needs shielding is shielded . And that includes everything inside the case BY THE CASE which is its self a Faraday Cage .

I think you are good to go

But read the manual to see if it makes any suggestions or gives any warning
