Help with making new computer from used hard drive

I was making a computer from everything new except the hard drive. Everything turned on fine, but the display said " No signal" I was thinking about wiping the hard drive and installing Ubuntu.I couldn't even open the bios.
Specs:
AMD Phenom II X6 1045T
HD 5450 (Planning to install a HD 7850 later on)
Corsair 450W
ASRock 760GM-GS3
4GB DDR3 G.SKILL Ripjaw
500 GB Hard drive

check to see if the mb onboard video port is the main video output right now if it is go into the bios and switch it to peg/pci.
on the mb make sure the white 4 pin power plug above the cpu is plugged in and you used mb standoffs. if there no mb splash screen you done something wrong on the build.

have you tried hooking up your monitor through the vga on your mobo first? or just the 5450. Also have you made sure all the psu connections are there (sometimes for instance you think you snapped the cpu power connector in but its not fully secured)?

I forgot to mention that the hard drive was used is a different computer with different components, could that be the problem?

I first tried with the 5450 then the mobo vga, and got no input on both

Another thing I noticed is that the cpu fan turns on, but I dont get a beep from the speaker
