I broke a usb socket, something lit up then the comp. turned off. Now it won't turn back on. Nothing lights up. Is my mobo fried? Is everything else okay like my hard drive?

Solution
There could be a short in the broken USB connector. Motherboard is probably damaged. This shouldn't have been enough to take out other components, but depending on your CPU and RAM you might have trouble buying a new board to suit without also replacing the CPU and RAM.

Sorry, I've just looked at your image again.
That USB socket is on an add-in card.
Just remove the card and see if the machine will boot.
