Im too lazy to find the "open/close" button and just pushing the dvd tray when i got the cd. Do you think it will damage the player? I googled it and im confused with their answers. Can you give your opinions? Any answers will appreciate.

I always just push the tray. I've been doing it for as long as I can remember (20+ years) and have never yet damaged a drive in this way. For most of that time I provided PC support in a company with about 1,000 computers and have never come across an instance of an optical drive damaged because of this.

With DVD drives currently costing less than $20 I would continue with what you have always done.
