Hello thanks for taking the time to read my post,

Built my first PC last night and decided I would use my old Vizio LED 29'' TV as my monitor.

Before I go further here is build:
Motherboard: MSI B85M- P33
CPU: Intel i-5 4570
PSU: Corsair CX-500
Hard drive: WD Caviar Blue 1 TB
Optical: LG 24x Super-Multi
RAM: Crucial Ballistix Sport 8 GB
GPU: Sapphire Radeon HD 7870 OC edition

Everything is installed and hooked up but when I power on the PC my TV does not get a signal from HDMI on either HDMI input 1 or 2. (I'm connecting HDMI via GPU.)

Yes, I did check the cable, and yes I did make sure the GPU was secured in PCIe slot multiple times.

GPU fans are running, so I assume it has power...

My question is: am I not able to boot with a GPU unless I've configured my PC beforehand?

If so so do I need to get a monitor with a VGA cable for my first boot?

PS- No HDMI input on motherboard.
