Hi all,
I've recently rebuilt my PC from the ground up, including a new motherboard, CPU, RAM and GFX card. I have simply installed my two old hard drives from my previous system.

When I attempt to boot the computer I receive a blue screen during the Windows Vista loading bar as the machine boots. I have tried booting the machine in Safe Mode and the boot process crashes during the loading of:

C;/windows/system32/crcdisk.sys

I have tried inserting the Vista installation disk and selecting the 'Repair' option but I receive the message that the version of Vista on the HD is different to the install disk (perhaps due to service pack installation?).

Is there anything I can do to regain access to this Vista install and all my data or do I need to reformat the disk?

Your advice appreciated.

You would need to re-install the OS. Changing out the MB usually means a new install because of the different hardware.

^^ You would need to reinstall. You have changed far too many parts for it to come back in any safe way.
