Hello all. I just installed my new Evga gtx 770 and my new Corsair hx 850w (gold edition) and now my computer just stops and stays on the bios screen for over 20 sec, and then boots up. Is there any reliable reason?

Specs:
Cpu: Intel core i5 3570k (3.4ghz)
Gpu: Evga gtx 770 (sc)
Motherboard: gigabyte Z77-ds3h
Hdd: 500gb 7200rpm
Ram: 2x 4gb kingston (1333hz)
Psu: Corsair hx 850w (gold edition)

might need bios update to recognize a newer card. if the old bios was from the same timeframe as the old card then the new card technology wouldnt be written into the bios because it wasnt available.

This is the same exact problem I am having to the T. I installed a Gigabyte gtx 770 4gb model and a Corsair HX850 gold rated power supply and my computer is doing the same thing. I can't even access my bios or anything. I also have the same exact motherboard as you. Through reasoning I would say its a motherboard compatibility issue. Have you fixed your problem?

sorry for the late answers and yes i fixed it the same day. You need to install your last graphic card, update bios and plug it in again. (motherboard bios)

I attempted to flash my BIOS and failed. Bricked my motherboard and the computer won't boot past the Starting Windows screen before freezing and going to a windows repair screen. I already re-flashed to old bios and removed everything but 1 stick of ram and the cpu but still won't boot. Any advice? I already ordered a new motherboard because I have read that if windows won't boot at all then my Mobo is bricked. I attempted to repair using dual boot and it still won't work.

Any chance if you remembered if it would beep during the boot up phase? like a single beep and then a break and then another one? I also just installed a new psu and gpu and had this problem. Just wondering if I should use this approach in fixing it. Thanks

3 Individual beeps with a long pause between each. Be very careful messing with your bios. Flashing it is simple but make sure you record what boot settings you have before you flash it and put them back to how they were when you reboot after flashing. I am too scared to flash my bios again so for now I am living with the long boot lol. Good luck!
