i cannot reinstall XP completely as it asks for VIDX32.sys file

while trying to reinstall xp on my old PC it does not complete setup by asking for vidx32.sys file and I do not know where to find it . the pc wont go any further without it

If you're using a standard install disk for XP all the required files should be present. Did you format the drive before starting the install? You can do a search on another XP machine to locate the file in question and copy it to a different destination if necessary. Are you aware that XP will shortly be unsupported?
