Hi.
I already spent a lot on my pc , I´m just missing a display. My budget is $800. I´m used on playing on a 46 inch tv on ps3.

Should I buy a 27" monitor or a 36" lcd ( 1080p)? The monitor offers more resolution but will I be able to tell the difference at those sizes? Is bigger always better for gaming?

Thanks :)

If you're gaming, don't get a TV. They're made for watching TV, not movies, but browsing internet and watching videos is fine. If you want the best solution, go for a 120hz monitor. Bigger IS NOT BEST FOR GAMING! It's hard to see the whole screen, but if you're playing things like minecraft, it's quite nice.

Games like Call of Duty are better to be played where you can see most of your screen.

I'd say 18-27 is okay, but I like to be near the 20-23's.

Hi, Thank you for your help. I forgot to mention I will be playing with an xbox controller on a sofa about 6 feet from the screen. Should I still get a monitor?

Well since you're casual gaming, honestly you'll have more fun through the TV. Or that would be me, a gamer.
