Solution
Hi
For "serious gaming" you may need
serious CPU
serious RAM
serious PSU
serious SSD
or serious 2x GTX 780 .......

i hope you get my point :)
It`s about the GAME and GAME Experience you`r after ...... 1080p on Ultra High Settings or 5760 x 1080 on Ultra Settings is compleatly different story ......

i5 is OK but i7 is better if you have extra cash
PSU is about the GPU you have - on GTX 780 the 700W is OK and 750 ; 800 ; 850 ... more is advised it will run cooler with less heat .......
16 GB is what you never need more if you GAME only ...... maybe if you use Virtualisation YES ....
About HDD i advise you to go for SSD - Samsung Evo have 120 , 256, 512 , 750 and 1 TB SSD models .... pick what ever you like regarding the price
HDD as storage and GAME files storage is OK ....... if you intend to game choose 7200 RPM HDD .......
