Sorry for all the questions i ask about gpu's.
I was originally looking at buying a XFX 7970

http://www.amazon.co.uk/XFX-Radeon-Black-Edition-Graphics/dp/B006W3ZU4U/ref=sr_1_sc_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1386785348&sr=8-1-spell&keywords=7970+xfxx

However there is an R9 280X, is there a point in going for that? i like the XFX R9 280X, is it any good? what would be a good but affordable R9 280X

http://www.amazon.co.uk/XFX-Express-Graphics-2xDVI-2xm-DP/dp/B00FSC5N66/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1386785055&sr=8-1&keywords=280x+xfx

I would like a graphics card that runs cool but runs fast.

Finally, could any one recommend me a PSU for either of these cards. I like:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/XFX-Black-Edition-750-Watt-Modular-PSU-P1-750B-UKB9-D-/141134743422?

would there be a better or cheaper one? I would like it to be fairly quiet.

All opinions appreciated.

A corsair 700-800w would be good and that ist the one I have but the cooling on mine is pretty good, XFX cards have always had good cooling so I guess it will be good, I wish I got that one but it wasnt there when I got mine which was annoying :) I'd go for that one then

I have that same graphics card, not had it long so cant tell you that it is perfect but it is the 'next gen' graphics card which supports DirectX 11.2 and in benchmarks it has beaten the gtx 770 so I would go for the 280x if I was you.

Good luck!

I guess you are english so here: http://www.scan.co.uk/shop/computer-hardware/all/gpu-amd/radeon-r9-280x-pci-e-(2048-streams)

These are r9 280x's and they are all similar but I havent used them all, if you do wan to go with the xfx one go for it. If you do want something better than choose somethign such as this: http://www.scan.co.uk/products/3gb-asus-radeon-r9-280x-matrix-6000mhz-gddr5-gpu-1000mhz-2048-cores-dvi-d-hdmi-dport

and cheaper if you get it at scan rather than amazon though, I would go for that one but my previous graphics cards have been XFX so I just stuck to it

There is a better XFX card, here: http://www.scan.co.uk/products/3gb-xfx-radeon-r9-280x-dd-black-edition-28nm-6200mhz-gddr5-gpu-1080mhz-2048-streams-dvi-hdmi-mdport-

If you were to get the xfx I would go for that one.
