Currently am trying to upgrade my computer to a good streaming rig. I plan on streaming DayZ. Which i hear is more CPU intensive then anything.

My specs:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... -GPU

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... -CPU

http://reviews.cnet.com/motherboards/intel-desktop-boar... -mobo

8 gb kingston ram

I have about 600 to 800 dollars to spend.

More about : upgrade good streaming rig

What parts do you have now? That rig wont' do much if any streaming on a cpu intensive game? if you have a case, power supply, optical drive, mouse, keyboard, monitor to reuse we can build u a pretty good rig for $800. but we need to know what you have on hand before I would even suggest anything.

This is all what i have. Plus my power supply is like 750w.

I do have Case, power supply, optical drive, mouse, keyboard, and two monitors. Also the ram I listed. I actually have two of those sticks equaling 8gb.

Thank you so much for your time.

$632, just a processor, board, cpu cooler, and GPU. Figure you can reuse everything else you have listed and be fine. If you want you could add 8 or 16 gb of higher speed ram and still stay under $800, but that is up to you. This would be a pretty decent upgrade, and has the ability to be overclocked in the future should the need arise.

Why an i5 over an i7? So my old mobo will not work with new stuff?

no your old board is too old for newer parts, I went with the I5 b/c I was trying to leave you some room if you did decide to add memory, http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2iLHL is the same build with a 4770k (i7) This will work better when trying to stream and play, but I didn't want to eat your entire $800 budget, its kind of up to you which route you go.

I want to be able to stream full quality like the higher end streamers. That's all that is important to me at this point.

Well if you can fit that second build in your budget it will be a huge upgrade. I would check my memory useage while streaming and see if you're getting closer to 8gb right after you build your new rig and see if you need to get to 16gb not 100% sure how much memory the stream will require.

Ok just one more question. Thank you so much. I am getting good info on here. Um the question I have is about the cpu cooler. What are the chances I do not have one already for the machine I listed. My Antec case has like 5 fans on it constantly moving air around and there are many venting ports so i am not sure if i needed one. Is a cooler an optional thing or not?

The cpu comes with a cooler (sorry I'm just getting back to you) it is optional to get the one I recommended but if you have any desire to OC the processor beyond the stock speeds you'll need it. If you don't want to OC you can leave it alone and just run on the stock fan but they aren't what one would call quiet under load.

Now I am looking at the different 760 brands. Any reason you would recommend Asus over any others?

What do you mean by 760 brands?

GPU -GTX 760. There are a bunch of different brands.

Oh there are several that are good brands. My two preferences are Asus and EVGA, but MSI and Gigabyte both make solid cards as well. You really can't go wrong with any of those brands.

Honestly I think I'm about to drop the EVGA 760 in my rig sometime in the next week or two.

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2jG7T Is the card I will likely be adding

Well you pretty much have saved me a whole lot of pain and frustration. I am going to get all the parts you recommended. Is there anything else you would change here?

Honestly no that rig should stream its arse off, and if for some reason you decide you want more GPU, just add another 760 and you'll be playing in the land of the 780s as far as performance goes.

remember me kindly in your streams lol... what is DayZ by the way, never heard of it.

Its a mod for Arma 2. Which is like a military simulation game. Only a someone took that game and made his own zombie survival simulation mod called DayZ. The company that made arma is backing the creator now to make its own standalone version of the game. Alpha should be soon.

Yeah i read about the dual gtx 760 GPU's in SLI. Well I am very excited.

I would see if just one can do what you're looking for but the board can handle 2 of them if you decide you need it later on. Still will be cheaper than buying a 780 anyway :)

Paid too much for your memory. Could have gotten a 2x4gb faster kit for cheaper, but it should all work for you. Couple of things... you MIGHT can just hook up your new computer to your old Hard drive and reinstall all the drivers, if you don't have anything you "need" on the old hard drive a fresh install would be much better since you're basically completely changing your system. The memory thing won't kill you but you paid about $20 more than you had to and got worse memory :(  hate to bring it up again.

I would just save everything I needed off my old computer on a USB drive, start fresh, and then pull the files I needed over.

I assume you mean you've already bought everything but here is your list with the memory change on the off chance you can still change your order...

Hey Supahos,

Thought you might have an answer. I posted this in another thread but trying to get any info possible.

Alright so I recently purchased new components for my PC. Now looking back, I really should not have gone at it alone. I however, cannot afford to take it in to someone so I figured I would save some change and do it myself. BAD IDEA.

Here is everything I am dealing with:

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2jMQY

My case usually flashes blue lights when it turns on but now nothing. I am pretty sure I did not do the wires right as I was pretty confused.

Here is a couple pics of my PC as it is currently, not booting.

http://share.pho.to/4MURu

I have no clue what to do...

If anyone can help me out in a short amount of time I seriously would paypal them some money because this is frustrating.

Whoever gets my comp to boot gets paid.

Thank you if anyone can help me.

There is no fan movement, no sound, and no lights when I try to power it up. Also from what I have been reading on forums you will want to know the psu. I know its over 700 so i should be fine there.

First Thing I see from your pics is you're missing one of the power connectors for your gpu, it needs a 6 pin and 8 pin power (both) connected in order to function, there should be a connector on your PSU that says "PCI-E" will be 6 pins, and have 2 pins hanging off the side. I assume you have the switch on your powersupply turned on as well? Additionally I can't see for sure that you have the front panel plugs plugged into the board as I didn't see a pic that showed them, if the front panel isn't connected properly (or at all) it won't turn on.
