My current setup is
CPU: AMD FX9370
GPU: AMD R7 260X
RAM: 8gb (2x4gb)
Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-970A-UD3P AM3+ AMD 970 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD

I'm planning on upgrading my GPU in the somewhat near future and I've been told I should look into getting a better Mobo to get better performance. Any suggestions?

If its working fine and you don't decide to go nuts and try to OC it (damn thing is already a massively OCed 8320/8350) and it works fine today I would think you'll be fine, if it does somehow fry, you'd just be in the same boat buying another MOBO which u were considering doing today. Never spend money today that you might not have to :)

I wasn't planing on over clocking it, hell if anything I looked into under clocking it so reduce heat and voltage so I didn't fry the motherboard, that thing will melt the sun when it heats up. But thanks for the quick reply, I'll leave it for the time being and if it all works then I won't change it.

That is exactly how I would handle it, worst case scenario you end up putting your old card back in, order a new mobo and put it together a few days later, but there is Absolutely no reason that board should bottleneck the card or cpu.
