I'm looking for a new GPU for my system. I've been looking at the HD 6870 (I want 3 outputs) and I'll need two 6-pin outputs on my MoBo.
Unfortunately, I don't.
However, if I use two Molex-6 pin adapter, will I be able to run this card?
I know it's a power hungry card.

I have a CX600M PSU and a Gigabyte H61M-USB3v motherboard.
I'm running an Intel i5 2500k, too.

Thanks.

i would get a 7870 if you can afford one or the r9 270x

will get the advantages of mantle games that way with a more powerful card also.

The 7000 series isn't compatible with my motherboard, hence me having to go for a mid-high range 6000.
All I need to know is if the method I suggested will work.

it should work fine or have you tried one with the latest bios on your board? i have a board older than that and my 7870 works fine.

My old 7750 doesn't work with it, but I assumed it was just that GPU until I saw the compatible GPUs on this website
http://www.pc-specs.com/mobo/GigaByte/GigaByte_GA-H61M-...(rev._1.0)/1993/Compatible_GPUs

If the 6870 is compatible, I'll get that, probably.

The 6870 will work just fine in with your computer.. but just so you know there are no compatibility issues with you choosing a 7xxx series card and your mobo, or even the R9 series... they will all work just fine in with that motherboard.
