I am running a dual-boot setup with Ubuntu 12.04 and Windows 7 home premium. I have decided to allocate more space to Windows for games and want to re-do my partiton. I am wondering what amount of space Ubuntu needs, is 20 gigs enough
20 "gigs" is plenty. Technically for a normal ubuntu install it only need 500MB of hard drive space. That's Half a "gig". Obviously you want to give it more for programs and updates and such but yeah 20GB is plenty.

Thank you for the quick answer. The install for me required nearly 5GB. I assume you didn't like "gigs" as shorthand, I should of used GBs instead.
Hahah nothing personal! Don't take it as me making fun or trying to be rude at all because that was not the case in anyway, I'm a PC Technician just a peeve of mine
BTW I've installed Ubuntu and ran it on 20GB for almost 10 months.(till i got sick of having to code everything)
