hi all, i have a samsung 40" tv that i use as my monitor with my pc, my question is this: it's a clear motion of 120 which i assumed meant it was actually a 60hz but when i go into the catalyst controll center it says it's 75hz, is this accurate!? thanks for the input!

Solution
120Hz HDTVs and 120Hz PC monitors operate differently. 120Hz HDTVs only accepts 60Hz input, but 120Hz monitors accepts 60Hz via dual linked DVI-D cable or HDMI 1.4a (if I am not mistaken).

120Hz HDTVs basically doubles the input frames through video interpolation. That means in between every two actual frames the HDTV's electronics creates an intermediate frame. The purpose is for smoother playback, but it take a little bit of time to create. This creates input lag for games and it is often recommended that when playing games on a 120GHz (or 240GHz) LCD HDTV that it be switched to 60Hz mode.

As for why Catalyst says 75Hz... I don't know. That is usually available only if the monitor / HDTV is set to a lower resolution.

depends on the tv model im sure if you went to the samsung site they would list the specs for that particular tv .. generally its 60hz or 60fps so if it is actually a 75hz your better than most real question is whats the gray to gray time..
