I have a laptop that will not boot into Windows 7, it freezes at logo then restarts. I can't access Safe Mode, nor does System Recovery even load (just keeps flicking back to the original "Windows 7 - Start Normal or Start up Recovery?" window. I have a USB to HDD plug that I can connect the drive to my other laptop, Is there a way to pull the recovery CD off this? I don't have the Dell Windows 7 CD that I should have burnt =(.

I do have an original Windows 7 cd but unsure if it will be able to use the Dell Win 7 cd key?

No you can't mix versions of Windows (OEM as compared to store bought). No you can't "pull the recovery CD" off the drive to burn, it is hidden and specialized to create the DVDs with the installed software that is now inaccessible on that drive.

YOUR sole solution is to call up Dell or go to the Dell Support site and BUY the OEM version of Windows for that computer (you will need to provide information ONLY located on that computer / your sales receipt / order information). There is no other way to do it with a OEM Windows. You can go buy a NEW copy of Windows and install it on the Dell Drive, but again Dell won't support that solution (you broke your agreement then).

Considering a new copy of Windows is $179, and if this is just a 'general use' laptop, you could instead just spring $249 at Walmart for a brand new under warranty and with support i3 Core laptop. Would be alot easier and cheaper 'value' then trying to hobble along that Dell (depending on the age of it etc.).
